Public policy / draft
Rental terms
Updated instant-booking terms are flagged below for owner and legal review before publishing. Earlier bookings and issued private payment links retain their original agreements.
Draft — attorney review required before bookings
This is general information, not legal advice or a finalized booking agreement. Consult a qualified attorney. The legal business name, contact details, retention, and booking policies still need confirmation.
The service
Guest Filmed proposes to ship 4K camcorders and prompt cards, with postage both ways, arriving a week before your wedding and due back in the prepaid mailer within a week after. Both packages include all raw footage. Guests operate the cameras; we do not provide a professional camera operator or a complete ceremony recording. Please check your venue rules before filming.
What we can deliver
A Keepsake film of 3 minutes or Double Take film of 4–5 minutes is a target, not a promise. We aim to deliver vertical sneak-peek reels within 72 hours and a highlight film within 7 days after receiving usable returned footage. The $150 rush edit aims for a film within 72 hours of receiving usable footage; timing must be confirmed before booking.
What guests record determines what can be edited. We cannot guarantee any specific moments, picture quality, intelligible audio, or a particular amount of usable footage. Missing, corrupt, damaged, or lost recordings cannot be recreated. We will discuss a shortfall and the applicable resolution with you rather than silently treating targets as guarantees.
Shipping and care
The plan is for cameras to arrive a week before your wedding with a supplied prepaid return mailer. Please send the cameras back in that mailer within a week after the wedding, following the supplied packing instructions. Transit delays, damage, or loss may happen in either direction.
Inspect the shipment when it arrives. Report damage, missing equipment, or delayed/lost deliveries promptly through the contact method provided in your written booking details; retain packaging and take photos when possible. If return shipping goes wrong, keep the carrier receipt/tracking and report it promptly. These steps help assess a carrier or insurance claim; they do not waive rights arising from our negligence or rights that cannot legally be waived.
Footage and guests
Your footage is used to prepare, edit, and deliver your package, including sharing with editing personnel as needed for that service. Founding Couple pricing asks for permission to share a clip, but we do not reuse footage in public samples, ads, or social posts without separate permission. You are responsible for telling guests they may be filmed and for obtaining any permissions required by applicable law, including for minors. See our Privacy page for current website-data practices.
Guest phone uploads and editing
Both Keepsake and Double Take include private guest photo and video uploads and editorial consideration of usable phone videos for the existing package film at no additional charge. A wedding-specific link is automatically created after verified booking payment. Photos are collected, but no slideshow or photo editing is included. Editorial selection does not guarantee any particular video appears; it does not create another film, extend the package runtime, or include extra re-edits. Upload before the deadline on the wedding link and before editing begins.
Guests must confirm before uploading that they took the photos or videos or have permission to share them for the couple’s service. That permission is not consent to public marketing. Publication requires separate permission; there are no client films or reviews currently approved for publication on this site. The link allows uploads, not browsing or downloading others’ files. Share it only with invited guests, keep original copies, and review its upload and scheduled deletion dates. Current upload limits are 500 MiB per file, 100 files and 20 GiB per wedding.
REVIEW BEFORE PUBLISHING — payment and saved card
New instant bookings pay 50% of the order total at booking. Stripe saves the payment method for the remaining balance, scheduled 14 days before the ship date. Shipping is scheduled seven days before the wedding, so the balance date is 21 days before the wedding. Weddings 14–20 days away must be paid in full when booked. Instant booking requires at least 14 days of notice. Staff may select full payment up front.
Payment is confirmed only after Stripe verifies it. A failed balance charge does not mean the balance has been paid; we will contact the customer to arrange payment. Existing bookings, including all previously issued $100-deposit links, keep their original prices, due dates and customer-initiated payment rules. These changes do not authorize charging older saved cards.
REVIEW BEFORE PUBLISHING — rental and shipping window
Arrives a week before your wedding. You have a week after to send it back. Use the prepaid return mailer and retain your tracking receipt. The planned ship date is seven days before the wedding; arrival and dispatch are different events, so the owner must confirm transit lead times before publication to support the promised arrival window.
The separate-shipment Bach party 4K camcorder costs $195. Confirm its event and shipping dates in the booking. Extra 4K camcorder $350; rush edit $150; Keepsake USB in retro tape case $45; vows and toasts mic kit $75.
REVIEW BEFORE PUBLISHING — card-on-file equipment policy
Your saved card may be charged per our Rental terms for lost or damaged equipment. Before any equipment charge, we must identify the affected equipment, document the loss or damage and provide an itemized explanation and amount to the customer. Normal wear is not damage. This draft does not establish an unlimited or arbitrary charging right.
Owner and legal review must establish replacement values, charge limits, notification and dispute procedures, and responsibility for carrier loss before this clause is activated. Saving a card for the scheduled balance is not a substitute for informed consent to a separate equipment charge. Statutory rights are not waived.
REVIEW BEFORE PUBLISHING — cancellations and refunds
The older $100 reservation-deposit cancellation rule applies only to the agreements issued under that policy. It must not be applied automatically to a new 50% or fully paid booking. The owner must approve cancellation, rescheduling and refund terms for new instant bookings before publishing this revision. Contact us through your booking confirmation to request assistance.
